Playing lacrosse since he was 10 years old, Michael began his officiating career at age 12 as a timekeeper in the Newmarket Redbirds Lacrosse Association, before becoming an entry level official at age 14.

Michael worked his way up to the level of Referee-in-Chief in Newmarket before his career took him to Northern Ontario in 2010. He has been refereeing with the GSLA ever since.

Michael provides a wealth of experience to our younger officials and is always happy to discuss any questions about the game, so feel free to send him an email or if you see him at the rink say hi!

Roles and Responsibilities

• Schedules referees for games

• Supervises referees for skills development and progression

• Correspond with zone on officiating matters
